We’re probably like you.

We’re young, ambitious and eager to get away from here and into the world. We’ve always wanted to do it in a good way and know that the real way to connect with people and places isn’t through tours and guidebooks. We’re also pretty poor, well, we didn’t have cash to throw around for volunteering stints at any rate. So, in 2006, after being heavily disappointed with the options open to us, we set out to do it ourselves. It turned out that we did the right thing. Ever since the beginning, the demand has been overwhelming because our programs offer something unique.  

We’re not in it to make a buck – we’re in it to provide you with a life-changing experience, and, our long-term community partners a connection to some motivated and passionate young blood. We’re professional but try not to take ourselves too seriously. We’ve got some  crazy ideas and are unwilling to be defined by our competition. We’re the best at what we do (at least we think so) and we’re modest too.

Our team is comprised of experienced travelers, storytellers, and jokers. Trip leaders are hand selected and have usually been team members on previous trips. We select people who are smart, personable, usually unaware of where they are but never lost. They work diligently from the previous October to make sure that their program is perfect.

Our story is the story of a new generation, one that wants to change the world and answers to the backpackers call.
