04 Jul A Poem on Ghana
By Maghen Quadrini, West Africa Global Health volunteer
Warm in more ways than one
Starting from dawn to dusk sits the sun
The busy markets people do travel near and far
Walking and biking – no need for a car
The wash is done daily by hand
Fragile fingers wash away the tender remnants of land
The light though seldom shines through the night
Whether or not there will be water is tomorrow’s plight
A passion for life and what one decides
The people of Ghana stand tall with pride
Strong and elegant with poise
Sounds of freedom, simplicity and happiness – anything but noise
No doubt in mind
Time is no bother but rather something to confide
People hustle and bustle on the streets they go
Agomacha – we will all flow
