Canada day and OGME day… what a day, day!

Greetings from the holy land! Our first wave of participants have arrived and this trip has gotten off to a pretty spectacular start. Rich got in at 5:25am and is somehow still awake, God knows how. Everybody made it through security in a secure fashion and we are set up here in Jerusalem in a beautiful apartment, now drinking wine and dear old Jack. Our apartment is situated in Nachlaot, right in the centre of the city. We’re a 2 minute walk to the bustling Machane Yehuda market and a 3 minute walk to the tourist riddled Ben Yehuda boardwalk. We took a walk around tand got a wicked view of the old city glimmering on a breezy Jerusalem night. Nathan has basically mastered the Hebrew language in 6 hours. I wonder how quickly he’s gonna be speaking Arabic! Shannon is resting after a weekend of tear gas, soccer championshiping and celebrations. Kate has spent the past month kicking it with Arab bus drivers and I (Eyal) have been melting in the sweltering, peltering (is that a word? Jonah?) heat. We’ve had an amazing first day. It’s a truly awesome group and we’re all incredibly excited for 5 weeks of adventure! OGME OUT!!!
