Four Days of Festivus

Our alumni have done it again! We’re getting together to do what we do best – be active and get involved with the local community! Starting December 19th to December 22nd, OG’s holiday line up includes music and skating, food, fun, learning and growth…and of course, a winter prom to support Horizons Children Centre! Check out what we’re up to below and don’t forget to RSVP here.

Music Night at Free Times Cafe
December 19th 2012 @ 8:00pm – 1:30am,
Free Times Café, 320 College Street

Join us at Free Times Café for a night of entertainment by OG alumni. All are welcome to take the stage and play a number – even those of us who aren’t so musically talented.

Exploring Global Citizenship with Romero House
December 20, 2012 @ 1pm – 3pm
OG Headquarters, 77 Florence Street #103

Wondering how backpacktivism fits into our lives at home? Come meet special guest Santiago Rodriguez from Toronto’s Romero House to explore the role of global citizenship and its links to backpactivism.

Romero House supports incoming refugees with housing, settlement and advocacy programs to more than 6,000 individuals and families. It is very different from the standard shelter model of paid counselors and social service personnel, of landlords and tenants. Skate, Baby!
7:00pm – 10:00pm, December 21 2012
Nathan Phillips Square Rink, 100 Queen West (Toronto City Hall)

Let’s go skating, baby! Wear your ugliest sweater, best Santa beard or any other hilarious attire for a night of hot bevys and skating. Meet us there at 7:00pm! Don’t have skates? Dude, us neither! Luckily, skates of all sizes can be rented on site and if you bring your own, there are no costs required!

Winter Prom (!!) for HCC
8:00pm, December 22, 2012
Cinecycle, 129 Spadina (Bloor & Spadina)

How much did you love prom? Oh you didn’t? You didn’t even go? Either way – we’re doing it again! OG alumni and previous West Africa Discovery trip leader, BB, has organized a winter prom for all us folk who didn’t get to go, had a bad experience or just want to do it all over again!

On December 22nd OG alumni and friends will party in style and all proceeds will go towards supporting the development of OG’s first-ever partners in Ghana, Horizons Children’s Centre. Grab your tickets at:
