Greetings from Cambodia!

It’s been a whirlwind few days since our Animal Conservation team first stepped out of the Suvarnabhumi Airport to be greeted by the friendly faces of our program leaders, Kayla and Walker, and of course, the heat and humidity of Bangkok. We’ve barely had any time to write out our full experiences with all the hustle and bustle! From standing in awe of the gold-spiralled Buddhist temples that dot the city to gazing up at the towering skyscrapers, from rushing around on OG’s famous scavenger hunt to meeting with NGOs in Khlong Toei,  we’ve had ourselves quite the time!

We crossed the border yesterday and spent the night in Battambang. We are currently waiting to be picked up by our partner Ockenden and taken out to the Permaculture Education Farm. There’s a certain excitement buzzing in the air as we slow down the pace with gardening, planting trees, composting, and learning about permaculture.

It will be such a contrast to Bangkok. Our program leaders have warned us that by being in rural Cambodia we’ll be reminded of how big, wild, and amazing the Big Mango is.  But for now, we’re taking this opportunity to remember some of our favourite moments in Bangkok!
