Operation: Alumni

This is a big one.
OGHQ and some alumni who just can’t let it go have been up all night all around North America – in coffee shops, rec centers, cozy beds with dogs and even at work – to reconnect you with OG and each other. We are the Alumni Action Team and this is The Groundswell!
What does this secretive, yet loud, team of travel-crazy volunteers do? Just last week we asked ourselves the same thing. We are building OG’s first Alumni Network: to bring our far-flung community together, to get silly, to support the little OG’ers who come up after us, and be the groundswell of youth activism that OG was named for.
So what does that mean for you? We are launching a private Alumni Network on Facebook – the nucleus of everything alumni. This is where news, ideas, documents, questionnaires/polls, events, projects, shenanigans and funny pictures will be thrown around. This will enable us to have a central place to communicate, a place where we can build the next wave of alumni actions.

We’re also launching Operation Mentorship! We are supporting the next wave of backpacktivists before they head out on programs. They have enough questions, fears, doubts and accusations to keep OGHQ busy 24/7. Just like we did when we were about to leave! YOU, as one of the wonderful alumni, can be a source of wisdom and put their fears to rest! If you are interested, please email Chris (chris@operationgroundswell.com) or look for more information on the Alumni Network Facebook page.
That’s all for now folks, but keep an eye out for our next project. Let us leave you with this quote (and a hint): “You can do this, or do that, ride out the wave or fall flat. Whatever you do do, make it OG.”
