Two of the participants on our early summer Southeast Asia: Animal Conservation program are working towards displaying their photography in an exhibit and fundraiser once they’re back in Toronto. When we asked if they’d like to contribute to the Operation Groundswell blog, they enthusiastically replied that they would love to share some of their photography work. These pieces may be included in their Toronto photography show; they offer a glimpse of the highlights from our early summer program.

1. Wat Saket: After an incredible day touring around Bangkok, we finished our day by watching the sunset at Wat Saket.

2. Heading East: This was the start of our journey into the Thai Eastern Forest Complex to begin working with Freeland, a new partner for our programs in 2016.

3. Sai Tong Village: We were able to spend a day exploring the Sai Tong Village and learning about how permaculture has become a way of life within the farming community.

4. Covered: A misty day across the Eastern Forest Complex in Thailand.

5. Sisophon Homestay: One of my favourite locales during our travels – stars burst through the darkness in rural Mongkul Borei province.

6. Battambang: One of the last strongholds of the Khmer Rouge, this city has an amicable charm and grace that speaks to the resolve with which Cambodians have rebuilt their country.
