Greetings OGers past, present, and hopefully future!

From a crazy little idea in my head back in 2006, Operation Groundswell has sprouted many amazing and inspiring people and projects. You’re probably smiling right now thinking about all the friends you’ve made and laughs you’ve had. And as the Co-Founder of Operation Groundswell, I’ve traveled to 19 countries on 4 continents with dozens of people in what can only be described as one hell of a ride. But after leaving my day-to-day duties with OG last year after six years, I have begun a new journey with a project I think you’ll all be interested in…

I’m excited to announce a new initiative cut from the OG cloth called StashBelt! We produce the world’s first hidden zipper leather moneybelts with built-in USB drives. The belts are made from all-natural African leather by skilled artisans in Nairobi, Kenya. Sound cool? We think so too. They’re pretty much a must-have for all real travelers (that and a towel of course!)

We’ve recently launched our project on Indiegogo, one of the world’s leading crowdfunding platforms, and you can learn more about it here.

I’m writing because I have personally seen just how strong and powerful the OG family’s support is and I need your help! Here are just a few things you can do:

• Spread the word about StashBelt through word of mouth conversations and emailing your close contacts

• Suggest personal or media contacts for our team to reach out to. We’ve already had articles in several publications, including the Halifax Chronicle Herald with a reach of 250,000 people. Be as imaginative as possible as we’re looking to raise more than $10,000! Whether it’s a blog, a newspaper or just someone who could help us make this go viral, we would be infinitely appreciative.

• And of course, purchase a StashBelt (or two!) and make your travels just that much more safer, comfortable, and even fashionable!
